Cygnet Gin is produced in Swansea, with a recipe inspired in part by the attempt to cure cholera by two local folks in the mid-1800s. Master distiller Dai Wakely uses a selection of botanicals from all over the world (which is rather apt, considering Swansea’s history as a port for incoming goods from across the globe), including juniper, lemon peel, lime peel, pink grapefruit peel, orange peel, liquorice root, orris root, coriander seed, angelica root, cardamom seed, almond and chamomile.
Taste - Floral at first, with chamomile playing a big part on the nose. Fresh citrus peel give it a vibrant palate, joined by a bite of juniper and coriander spice.
